For more than a decade since 1995, Siti has been the top and most popular Malaysian singer with ability to sing a wide range of ballads, pop, R & B, and traditional Malay melodies, in her uniquely beautiful flair.
Malaysians of this generation have seen her performances and listened to her songs for a decade and are extremely proud of her achievements, receiving awards and recognition even from the neighbouring countries of Indonesia, Brunei and Singapore.
In fact, those who now live to see her sing and perform, or listen to her songs, indeed have that rare and lucky privilege of watching and listening to a diva, a songstress extraordinaire, in their lifetime.
And for her contributions to the arts and culture of the state of Pahang, Siti Nurhaliza was conferred with the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) award, which carries the title of Datuk, from HRH the Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah, on the 24th of October, 2006.
This conferment was in conjunction with the 76th birthday of HRH the Sultan.
So it's "Datuk Siti Nurhaliza" from that date onwards.
And with the conferment of a Dato' Seri to dearest hubby by HRH the Sultan of Pahang in October 2007, appropriately she is Datin Seri Siti Nurhaliza.
Together with hubby, she went for the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca in December 2007, and so we can now refer to her as Datin Seri Hajjah Siti Nurhaliza.
Datin Seri Hajjah Siti Nurhaliza, a Malaysian diva, a pop idol, an accomplished Malay traditional singer, a singing queen, an icon -- in short, a songstress extraordinaire.
Truly a jewel in the crown of Malaysian singers, with looks to match.
But more than that, she exemplifies the grace of character and charming personality of a truly Malay lady, petite and gentle with modern yet traditional dressing sense, adored by all. |
